Resilience & Healing are needs that cut across many issues in American Indian communities. In order to move forward as individuals and as collectives, it is necessary to address 1) daily stress, 2) trauma from violence, abuse, etc., and 3) historical trauma. This group includes people who are committed to taking positive action, to sharing and learning from each other, and to nurturing circles of support for practitioners. Relevant issues include (but are not limited to) mind-body medicine, mindfulness, “adverse childhood experiences,” toxic stress, brain development, and culturally based healing approaches.
